Cursor is the most powerful AI coding tool for developers who want the AI to do the heavy lifting. Its Composer feature can rewrite entire layers of code from a single prompt. Pro at $20/month ($16/mo annual) is excellent value for daily developers. Watch out — Cursor moved to a credit-pool model in 2025, so heavy agent-mode or frontier-model use can push real bills to $40–80/month beyond the base price (Pro+ at $60 or Ultra at $200 give larger credit pools). If you use JetBrains or Xcode, choose GitHub Copilot instead.
